CORNELL UNIVERSITY, NORTH MARTHA VAN RENSSALAER PARKING GARAGE

Pike provided general construction services for Cornell University’s new 190,000 square foot, cast in place concrete parking structure. The garage provides the base for a future educational building. Work included new site utilities, environmental controls, 50,000 cubic yards of spoil removal, and approximately 260 secant piles which became a 45 foot high retaining wall system, making up the south wall of the garage. The project also included new underground tunnels which link the garage to existing building on campus.

The project is registered with the United States Green Building Council to receive LEED Silver certification. Green aspects of the project included utilizing recycled concrete and form lumber.
