MERCY HOSPITAL, EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT ADDITION
Construction management services for a 54,000 square foot addition to the emergency department at Mercy Hospital. The addition connects to the second floor, which is the main entry level of the existing hospital.
New construction included a new ambulatory lobby, vestibule and connecting corridor back to the main entrance. Over two floors were renovated to provide support space including nursing, triage, department offices, storage, medications, decontamination, EMT work space, and a dedicated CT imaging services. The new department provides 30 universal treatment rooms, two airborne isolation rooms, and two cardiac/trauma resuscitation rooms. The new building also includes a penthouse for mechanical/electrical equipment, and a roof level helipad.
The new emergency department enhances operational efficiency, provides flexibility, and creates a positive environment for emergency care.
